  1. All the dates for Refresher Courses / Orientation courses are tentative. As per the UGC regulations, if theire is no sufficient number of participants for a particular programme, the Application and Registration fee will be carried over to the subsequent programme. The DD will not be returned unless the course is cancelled in the scheduled year.
  2. Outstation participants will be paid TA by the shortest route in accordance with UGC guidelines.
  3. Local participants will be paid Rs.100/- per day (DA) towards Boarding and conveyance charges for the actual number of days for which they have attended the programme
  4. Outstation participants will be paid Rs.250/- per day (DA) towards Boarding and Lodging for the whole duration of the course .
  5. As the academic staff college has very limited hostel accommodation (B11 & B12 staff quarters), it may be possible to provide accommodation to only few participants. Preference will be give to women and participants from other states.
  6. Both the above mentioned staff quarters are within our residential campus. The residential campus is just opposite to the main gate of Bharathiar University. Academic Staff College is situated in the School of Distance Education Building which is near to the second gate (Hostel Bus-stop) of the university.
  7. Participants are not permitted to go for any official or 'Other Duty' work during the period of the course. They are also not permitted to avail any permission for not attending the classes under any circumstances. They should be punctual and regular to the classes.
  8. Participants should produce proper relieving order from their institution while joining the course.
  9. Participants must bring adequate funds to meet their expenses during the course period, since the TA and DA claims will be settled only on the last day of the course and there is no provision for advance payment towards their TA and DA.
  10. Participants have to carry out assignments / projects etc. prescribed as part of the course without fail. Hence, they are requested to bring one or two text books / reference materials in their subjects concerned.
  11. Holidays: Sundays only. If any national holiday falls during the period of the course, the following sunday will be a working day to compensate the holiday.
  12. The participants will be evaluated on the following basis:
    a. The total marks 100 and the same is distributed in the following manner:
    a) Over all response
    b) Seminar
    c) Project / Survery / Assignments / Others
    d) Micro-teaching / Participation
    e) Multiple Choise Objective tests

    b. The grades will be indicated on the certificate to be given to the teacher participant at the end of the programme.
    Details of Grading:
    A Grade 75% and above
    B Grade 60% and above
    C Grade 50 to less than 60%
    F Grade Below 50%

    Those teacher participants who get 'F' grade are requied to repeat the programme after a gap of one year without any financial commitment to UGC-Academic Staff Colllege.
  13. Subject to the conditions and guildelines of the UGC, the Director's decision shall be final, in respect of all issues pertaining to the course.
  14. Participants are to abide by the rules and regulations of the UGC - Academic Staff College.
  15. It is also requested that before you leave from your place to attend the course, kindly contact us over phone to confirm that the course is conducted as scheduled even though we always inform the participants well in advance if there is any change in the schedule of the courses.
